Vanity

May 25, 2007

Name :: Annie Carr

Occupation :: corruptor of young minds

Location :: Hungary

Hair Color :: creeping towards grey

Eye Color :: according to my students, blue. actual color, brown.

current philosophy :: “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid across the finish line broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil and shouting, What A Ride!” - unknown

eats :: yopomien, mapodofu, jiaozi, street bbq, apples, paprika chicken, bizarre concotions from her own kitchen.

drinks :: coffee, orangeate, knob creek

hangs out with :: friends. random old ladies who seem to enjoy meeting me then taking me by the hand and leading me somewhere completely different. students. people in the pool hall. cab drivers.

brought to china :: a suitcase full of books. a camera. a powerbook. a ludicrious assortment of toiletries and medications (including but not limited to approximately 50 listerine pocket packs). duck tape, industrial size. leatherman (lost). some more books. oh, and some clothing.

wish I’d brought :: fitted sheets.

why I’m blogging :: because it seems perfectly natural to be sitting around writing about my experiences when I’m too wiped to go out for more. because someone might learn from my mistakes even if I don’t. because I was getting behind on my novelesque mass emails to friends at home. because I’ve got an ego the size of montana. because sometimes I need to whine.
